COTTAI’s Duoliv Twinpull Elite roller blind control system has received the 23rd National Brand Yushan Award in the Best Product category. Entered as “Duoliv-Child Safety,” it reflects our approach to reducing complexity: understanding the need, working through the details and making the solution easier to use.
Starting with the need
When you select a roller blind control system, you need to consider safety, daily operation and performance together. We developed Duoliv with these connected needs in mind, working towards a clear goal: to make roller blind operation safer and more intuitive.
The resulting system uses two independent operating wands, one to raise the blind and the other to lower it, without an exposed operating cord or chain loop. Each control has a clear purpose, keeping everyday operation straightforward.
Working through complexity
Making operation simpler meant rethinking the mechanism behind it. During development, we encountered challenges with noise, gear engagement and load handling. We revisited the internal structure and developed a solution based on spring friction.
This experience reflects how we approach a challenge: first understand the problem, then identify which details need to change and which approach is worth pursuing.
